Before Tanks Inc became Tanks Inc, the owner spent 28 years in the field of air pollution control and was mainly involved with large pressurized vessels. Many of the vessels were larger than railroad tanker cars. They naturally had to be leak proof and built to exacting specifications. When he and his street-rodding buddies were all building different models of 33-34 Fords, they all needed gas tanks. This led to building a variety of tanks for local rodders which in turn let to Tanks being launched in 1980 to meet the need. They became incorporated in 1990 and have build building fuel tanks ever since. Tanks, Inc. has not only received various awards for safety and innovation but also hold three patents in the automotive field, two of which are for gas tanks.
