One of the top-notch brands we use for our sheet metal is Dynacorn. Dynacorn is known as an industry leader when it comes to sheet metal, and they've also taken it a step further with the Dynacorn Classic Bodies division where they have produced complete bodies for the Chevy Camaro, Chevelle, and the Chevy Pickup. Since 1984, Dynacorn International Inc. has been supplying the classic muscle car enthusiast with quality sheet metal, bright trim, and molding for restorations or for just plain making a ride look its best. The quality and fit of their restoration quality parts is unsurpassed. The tooling is new and crisp, the steel used is the very best available on the market, and the craftsmanship is beyond good...it’s superior. Because not using the correct materials can be a huge issue, Dynacorn uses only 1006 Universal grade Automotive steel in all of their stampings. Since new steel has fewer additives, the welds come out cleaner, tighter and with a lot fewer gasses being emitted than in the past.

Our Tri-Five sheet metal and body panels are made in the US and overseas. Anything that you see that is bare sheet metal is made here in the US, and anything that is black-coated is made overseas. While every effort is made to source parts that are made in the USA, some parts are simply not manufactured in the United States. In either case, we offer the best parts available.

Over the course of about three years (1955-1957), the “shoe box” style Chevy Tri-Fives became one of the most popular and sought after set of automobiles on the planet. Their designs were innovative and the backbone of a remarkable legacy that had a lasting impact on the automobile industry. In 1955, the 265-cubic-inch Small Block Chevrolet V8 that was known as the “Turbo Fire” and the original SBC. The combination of high-compression with the short stroke culminated 162-horsepower with a two-barrel carburetor. But, the “Power Pack” option produced 180-horsepower and the “Super Power Pack” option produced 195-horsepower. These options were different from others due to the use of four-barrel Rochester carburetors and dual exhausts. The Nomad was also introduced in 1955. The model was introduced in its mid-year run with the Bel Air trim and V8 standard as a two door station wagon. The Nomad came with upscale carpeting, two tone paint, headliner trim and other features that made it a higher end option. The Nomad was considered a “carryover” model, as it carried over into 1956 but had a few changes made to it. During this year Chevrolet altered the standard 265 tremendously; it went from 162-horsepower to 225-horsepower and the “Super Power Pack” upgraded that to 240-horsepower with that Rochester four barrel carburetor. As 1957, the final year of the Tri-Five, rolled around, all cars got the big tail fins and the “twin rocket” hoods that made them outstanding. During this time cars got a tricolor paint with even more chrome on both the inside and outside. Each year of the Tri-Five, the cars changed drastically to mirror the looks of Cadillacs of the time. This tremendous effort by Chevrolet cost them millions of dollars, but in the end it most definitely paid off.
