The safety glass was designed to hold together and not become flying shards in an accident. Since they were laminated, they would spider web rather than crack into pieces. They came in clear and green tinted glass. The tinted glass added protection from glare on sunny days. You need a windshield that has been precision cut to fit the opening in the truck cab, or they will not fit properly. Improperly fitting windshields may leak because they will not fit in the weatherstripping correctly.
