Our Chevelle sheet metal and body panels are made in the US and overseas. Anything that you see that is bare sheet metal is made here in the US, and anything that is black-coated is made overseas. While every effort is made to source parts that are made in the USA, some parts are simply not manufactured in the United States. In either case, we offer the best parts available. One of the top-notch brands we use for our sheet metal is Dynacorn. Dynacorn is known as an industry leader when it comes to sheet metal, and they've also taken it a step further with the Dynacorn Classic Bodies division where they have produced complete bodies for the Chevy Camaro, Chevelle, and the Chevy Pickup. Since 1984, Dynacorn International Inc. has been supplying the classic muscle car enthusiast with quality sheet metal, bright trim, and molding for restorations or for just plain making a ride look its best. The quality and fit of their restoration quality parts is unsurpassed. The tooling is new and crisp, the steel used is the very best available on the market, and the craftsmanship is beyond good...it’s superior. But Dynacorn doesn’t stop there. Because not using the correct materials can be a huge issue, Dynacorn uses only 1006 Universal grade Automotive steel in all of their stampings. Since new steel has fewer additives, the welds come out cleaner, tighter and with a lot fewer gasses being emitted than in the past.
Although only in production for a short eight years, the Chevy Chevelle certainly made a lasting impact on the car industry. The 1964 Malibu SS 327 was a first generation Chevy Malibu and was powered by a small-block engine that was originally only found in the high-performance Corvette. The Super Sport package was formally introduced in the 1964 Malibu SS. The SS package targeted drivers who were not fond of tuner culture for the purpose of constructing their own cars. The first Malibu was the perfect car for anyone with a need for speed, as it was powered by a 327 cubic inch L76 engine that produced 365 hp. The 1965 Malibu SS 396 was an incredibly special vehicle because it marked the start of a big-block era for the Chevelle line. The idea behind the 1965 Malibu was to present the 396 cubic-inch Z16 engine that produced 375 hp. This idea would act as a guideline for the next generation of American sports cars. Only 200 of these models were produced, and they were primarily sold to celebrities and moguls in the racing industry who used them as their personal cars. Perhaps the most recognizable Chevelle is the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. In order to compete against the high-powered, dynamic Chrysler cars and the speedy Cobra Jet Ford Mustangs, General Motors made a bold move with the 1970 Chevelle. This model contained a LS6 7.4L V8 engine that delivered 450 hp and 500 ft-lbs of torque at a compression rate of 11:25:1.This classic car was also featured in many notable films, like the Fast and the Furious series as Dominic Toretto’s signature ride, Jack Reacher, and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. Today it’s valued at over $2 million dollars by classic and exotic vehicle collectors.
