To Keep Or To Trash? That Is The Question...

I have written about this before but have decided to write about it again, just as a reminder. One of the biggest problems we have in this business is that people think they can buy everything for their restoration. So as a result of this, they will just take things off and throw them away. Well I am sorry to tell you that you cannot buy everything. The cardinal sin of the restoration world is throwing parts away before you’re done with the build. There are times where you are going to have to restore, or reuse, an old part. Personally, I tend to get a little in left field when working on some of my projects so I will save the part and bag, label all of the hardware, and keep parts sorted as to where they go on the car or truck. So just keep this in mind when you take on a restoration project. Don’t throw anything away until you are finished and driving your project down the highway.
